Kevin Carver Wins Street Stock Main Event

Racing at South Sound Speedway on Saturday July 14th, had five classes on hand, Top Notch Trailer Street Stocks, HiLine Homes Legends, NW Baby Grands, Olympic Trailer and Truck Accessories Bumblebees, and WMRA.

 

Street Stock Main event started with Greg Davidson on the pole and Mike Carlson on the outside. Carlson takes the lead on lap 1.  On lap 8, on the front stretch, Dan Walker and Shawn Jones slide into the grass, both sent to the back on pack. On lap 8, turn 4, Ryan Kerr and Davidson were rubbing coming out of 4 for the restart, Kerr goes sideways. On lap 22, turn 2, Brian Cottrell and Jimmy Allen spin, both to the back of the pack. Kevin Carver takes the lead on lap 23. On lap 27, turn 4, Carlson gets spun by Richard Kerr and slides across the bottom of the track, throwing cones and gravel onto the track.  Carver goes on to win the 35 lap Street Stock Main Event, followed by Walker, Richard Kerr, Carlson, and Steve Prissel to round out the top 5.

 

Legend Main event started with Brent Mack on the pole and Kohlton Steinke on the outside. Mack takes the lead on lap1. On lap1, turn 1and 2, Randy Beddow spins, everyone slows to avoid hitting him, Beddow and Eric Shover go to the back of the pack. On the front stretch after the restart, Rick McNeill, Jon VanGesen, Parker Stephens, Evan Margeson, Beddow, and Shover bunch up and hit each other when Randy Schaaf spins. Beddow hits wall and VanGesen jumps over another car.  Schaaf and McNeill go to the back of the pack. Duane Swanson takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 9, Margeson takes the lead. Margeson goes on to win the 30 lap Legend Main Event, followed by Stephens, Swanson, Steinke, and Schaaf to round out the top 5. Margeson was disqualified for being too low.

 

Baby Grand Main event started with Brad McCutcheon on the pole and Mark Maynard Jr. on the outside. McCutcheon takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 4, McCutcheon gets a mechanical flag for leaking gas. On lap 5, turn 1 McCutcheon and Brad Crawford spin. Jim Guinn takes the lead on lap 5, and goes on to win the 20 lap Baby Grand Main Event, followed by Brad Crawford, Bryan Crawford, Mike Crawford and Mark Maynard Jr. to round out the top 5.

 

Bumblebee Main event started with Dennis Lalander on the pole and Ryan Snow on the outside. Lalander takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 3, Snow takes the lead. Shawn Breitzman takes the lead on lap 9. Snow retakes the lead on lap 10. On lap 12, Breitzman retakes the lead. On lap 15, Richard Woolverton takes the lead and goes on to win the 25 lap Bumblebee Main Event, followed by Breitzman, Steve Pierson, Snow, and Jonathan Curfman to round out the top 5.

 

WMRA Main event started with James Pirie on the pole and Troy Globe on the outside. Mitch Hoffses takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 1, Billy Bell slows on the front stretch. On lap 24, turn 3, Evan Margeson spins Hoffses, both drivers to the back of the pack. On lap 25, Kris McKenzie takes the lead.  Margeson takes the lead on lap 31 and goes on to win the 35 lap WMRA Main Event, followed by McKenzie, Kevin Koepke, Pirie and Bobby Bird to round out the top 5.
