Tom Sweatman Wins Super Late Model Main Event

Racing at South Sound Speedway on Saturday May 17, 2014, was full of excitement with five classes on hand, Olympia Trailer & Truck Accessories Super Late Models, Lexar Home Legends, Super 4s, Outlaw compact Chad Benjamin Memorial, and WMRA.
Super Late Model event started with Tommy Elstoen on the pole and Cody Stewart on the outside. After the green flag, Kelly Mann and Dan Obrist spin. Elstoen takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 7, turn 1, Stewart spins and Mike Obrist had nowhere to go and hits Stewart. Tom Sweatman takes the lead on lap 33. On lap 87, turn 2, Sweatman spins from something on the race track and get his spot back. Sweatman goes on to win the 100 lap Super Late Model Main event, followed by Elstoen, Mike Obrist, Dan Obrist and Kelly Mann to round out the top 5.
Kelly Mann had fast time for the night with 13.498.
Legend Main event started with Brent Mack on the pole and Tracy Warren on the outside. Tristan Haider takes the lead on lap 1, and goes on to win the 25 lap Legend Main event, followed by Warren, Kyle Kinzebach, Brent Mack and Brooke Schimmel to round out the top 5.
Kinzebach had fast time for the night with 15.751.
Super 4 Main event started with Stan Straker on the pole and Andy Halbert on the outside. Halbert takes the lead on lap 1. John Grosvenor takes the lead on lap 4. Jeff Jones takes the lead on lap 6. On lap 9, Rusty Sage spins. On the restart, turn 4, Kayla Pittman spins. Grosvenor retakes the lead on lap 14. On lap 18, Jones blows a motor. Sage takes the lead on lap 23. On lap 34, turn 2, Jim Kaster, and Pittman spin. Sage goes on to win the 40 lap Super 4 Main event, followed by Jack Lawrence, Tommy Laxson, Max Schroeder, and Jim Kaster to round out the top 5.
Jeff Jones had fast time for the night with 13.986 (new track record).
Outlaw Compact Main event started with Chuck Richard on the pole and Lorry Stafford on the outside. Richard takes the lead on lap 1. Rod Helmuth takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 4, Jason Gotz gets a mechanical flag. On lap 17, turn 2, Devin Matthews spins, Gotz gets another mechanical flag for dumping fuel. On lap 35, on the front stretch, Daune Chapman spins. On lap 28, on the back stretch, Michael Fritz spins. Helmuth goes on to win the 40 lap Outlaw Compact Main event, followed by Eric Angeledes, Karl Smith, Drew Harthorn, and Matthews to round out the top 5.
Gotz had fast time for the night with 15.729.
WMRA Main event started with Pat Bliss on the pole and Tony Seidelman on the outside. Evan Margeson takes the lead on lap 1, and goes on to win the 25 lap WMRA Main event, followed by Seidelman, and Bliss to round out the field.
Bliss had fast time for the night with 13.391.
