Preston Duman Wins Vintage Modifieds Main Event

South Sound Speedway on Saturday May 18, 2024, was full of excitement with five classes on hand. Vintage Modifieds, 9 cars for 35-laps, Black Lake Towing Legends, 14 cars for 35-laps, NW Focus Midgets, 15 cars for 25-laps, Quality Quick Lube-n-Tune Bandoleros, 9 cars for 15-laps, and Bump to Pass, 10 cars for 20-laps.
Vintage Modifieds Main Event started with Joey Cavin on the pole, and Brian Wilson on the outside. Cavin takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 18, turn 4, Paul Field and Cavin get together and spin, bringing out caution number 1. Dominick Hunter takes the lead on lap 19. On re-start of lap 19, front stretch, Field and Travis Brown spin, bringing out caution number 2. Preston Duman takes the lead on lap 20 and goes on to win the Vintage Modifieds 35-lap Main event, followed by Field, Hunter, Cavin, and Bob Fulmer to round out the top six.
Preston Duman had a fast time of 15.001.
Brian Wilson wins the heat race.
Legends Main Event started with Brandon Cole on the pole, and Rick McNeill on the outside. After the green flag, turn 4, Danny Arnold spins, James Hamlin, Allie-Mae Jones, and Kyle Kinzebach get caught up in the spin, bringing out caution number 1. Cole takes the lead on lap 1 and goes on to win the Legends 35-lap Main event, followed by McNeill, Dylan Wolf, Kinzebach, and Kyle Lang to round out the top five.
Kyle Kinzebach had a fast time of 15.504.
William Evans won heat race #1, and Brandon Cole won heat race #2.
NW Focus Midget Main Event started with Jim Guenther on the pole, and Nick Evans on the outside. Evans takes the lead on lap 1. Tyler West takes the lead on lap 18. On lap 21, exit road, Brian Rose exits with flames coming from the car, bringing out caution number 1. West goes on to win the NW Focus Midgets 25-lap Main event, followed by Evans, Randy Schaaf, Dalton Christmas, and Robert Clark to round out the top five.
Tyler West had a fast time of 14.017.
Keegan Creager won heat race #1, and Randy Schaaf won the heat race #2.
Bandolero Main Event started with Bishop Brothers on the pole, and Jace Ellis on the outside. Brothers takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 1, turns 3 and 4, Ellis gets into Brothers, and they spin, Leilan Langston hit Brothers and Rylan Presley hits Langston, bringing out caution number 1 and a red flag. On re-start on lap 1, turn 2, T.J. Schlund spins, and Ryler Jones spins to miss, bringing out caution number 2. Hemi Franks takes the lead on lap 2. Ellis takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 11, turn 2, Schlund spins, bringing out caution number 3. Ellis goes on to win the Bandoleros 15-lap Main event, followed by Franks, Schlund, Jones, and Brothers to round out the top five.
Bishop Brothers had a fast time of 17.980.
Jace Ellis wins the heat race.
Bump to Pass Main Event started with Devin Bliss on the pole, and Brandon Cook on the outside. Bliss takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 6, turn 2, Cook hits the wall and inside barrier, bringing out caution number 1 and a red flag. Mike Charles takes the lead on lap 7. Amber Charles takes the lead on lap 13. Tony Timlick takes the lead on lap 17 and goes on to win the BTP 20-lap Main event, followed by Ambert Charles, Jeff Hutt, Josh Page, and Bliss to round out the top five.
Amber Charles had a fast time of 16.941.
Ted Hutt wins heat race #1, Mike Charles wins heat race #2.
