Preston Duman Wins the Vintage Modified Main Event

South Sound Speedway on Saturday June 1, 2024, was full of excitement with five classes on hand. Vintage Modifieds, 9 cars for 40-laps, Baby Grands, 9 cars for 25-laps, NW Pro 4 Trucks, 12 cars for 35-laps, FSCRA/Super 4s, 7 cards for 25-laps, and AMCA Bandit Dwarfs, 14 cars for 25-laps.
Vintage Modified Main Event started with Tim McDougald on the pole, and Mitchell Woods on the outside. McDougald takes the lead on lap 1. Brian Wilson takes the lead on lap 8. Preston Duman takes the lead on lap 11. Joey Cavin takes the lead on lap 12. Steve Woods takes the lead on lap 15. Duman re-takes the lead on lap 28. On lap 35, turn 4, Travis Brown spins, bringing out caution number 1. Duman goes on to win the Vintage Modified 40-lap Main event, followed by S. Woods, Dominick Hunter (DQ), McDougald, and Cavin to round out the top five.
Preston Duman had a fast time of 15.118.
Brian Wilson wins heat race #1, and Dominick Hunter wins heat race #2.
Baby Grand Main Event started with Ty Baker on the pole, and William Potts on the outside. Potts takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 1, turn 2, Mike Duman and Baker get together and spin, bringing out caution number 1. Shawn Jones takes the lead on lap 13. On lap 18, turn 2, Steven Mitchell spins Potts, bringing out caution number 2. Jones goes on to win the Baby Grand 25-lap Main event, followed by Derrick Presley, Duman, Mitchell, and Connor Morris to round out the top five.
Shawn Jones had a fast time of 15.093.
Steven Mitchell won the heat race.
NW Pro 4 Trucks Main Event started with Jerry Buell on the pole, and Shane Greene on the outside. S. Greene takes the lead on lap 1. Cody Kooy takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 6, turn 2. McKenna Cox spins Pete Brady, bringing out caution number 1. Calvin Miller takes the lead on lap 18 and goes on to win the NW Pro 4 Trucks 35-lap Main event, followed by Cox, Kooy, Brady, and Rod Helmuth to round out the top five.
McKenna Cox had a fast time of 15.884.
Shane Greene wins heat race #1, and Cody Kooy wins heat race #2.
FSCRA/Super 4s Main Event started with Bob Quarterman on the pole, and Ron Grosvenor on the outside. R. Grosvenor takes the lead on lap 1. John Grosvenor takes the lead on lap 2. On lap 9, back stretch, Davd Wilson’s car comes to a complete stop, bringing out caution number 1. J. Grosvenor goes on to win the FCSRA/Super 4s 25-lap Main event, followed by Tommy Laxson, R. Grosvenor, Quarterman, and Craig Neves to round out the top five.
Tommy Laxson had a fast time of 14.414.

AMCA Bandit Dwarfs Main Event started with Robert Rush on the pole, and Kyle Pope on the outside. After the green flag, turn 2, Chuck O’Connor’s car flips, bringing out caution number 1 and a red flag. K. Pope takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 5, turn 4, Carson Bentley spins, and Dale Knudson gets into the wall trying to get by, bringing out caution number 2. On lap 8, turns 1& 2, Mike Woolsey spins, bringing out caution number 3. On lap 14, turn 2, Jay Elliott spins, bringing out caution number 4. Cameron Stark takes the lead on lap 23 and goes on to win the AMCA Bandit Dwarfs 25-lap Main event, followed by K. Pope, Bryson Smith, Rick Taylor, and Anthony Pope to round out the top five.
Cameron Stark had a fast time of 15.180.
