Paul Field and Bob Fulmer Win the Vintage Modifieds Main Events

South Sound Speedway on Saturday July 20, 2024, was full of excitement with four classes on hand. Vintage Modifieds, 11 cars for 30-laps, and 2nd Main 9 cars for 30-laps, Hinkle Homes Hobby Stocks, 10 cars for 35-laps, Auto Tech Services Mini Stocks, 7 cars for 30-laps, and NABRR Big Rigs, 8 Trucks for 40-laps.
Vintage Modified 1st Main Event started with Jeff Peterson on the pole, and Joey Cavin on the outside. Cavin takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 8, turns 3 & 4, Travis Brown and Brian Wilson get together, bringing out caution number 1. On the re-start of lap 8, turn 4, Paul Field is loose and gets into Preston Duman who hits the wall, bringing out caution number 2. Field takes the lead on lap 29 and goes on to win the Vintage Modified 1st 30-lap Main event, followed by Cavin, George Chambers, Bob Fulmer, and Robert Stark to round out the top five.
Vintage Modified 2nd Main Event started with Bob Fulmer on the pole, and George Chambers on the outside. Fulmer takes the lead on lap 1 and goes on to win the Vintage Modified 2nd 30-lap Main event, followed by Field, Cavin, Chambers and Duman to round out the top five.
Preston Duman had a fast time of 15.175.
The Hobby Stock Main Event started with Andre Pilon on the pole, and Bryce Tyler on the outside. Tyler takes the lead on lap 1. Eric Woods takes the lead on lap 8. On lap 17, turn 4, Brandon Chapman spins, bringing out caution number 1. Woods goes on to win the Hobby Stock 35-lap Main event, followed by Derrick Gomes, Wally Austin, James Warren, and Tyler to round out the top five.
Wally Austin had a fast time of 15.983.
Bryce Tyler won heat race #1, and Wally Austin won heat race #2.
Andre Pilon won the trophy dash.
Mini Stock Main Event started with Richard Woolverton on the pole, and Jesse Boczar on the outside. Woolverton takes the lead on lap 1. Shawn Jones takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 9, turn 4, Mac Angeledes spins, bringing out caution number 1. On lap 18, turn 2, Angeledes spins again, bringing out caution number 2. Jones goes on to win the Mini Stock 30-lap Main event, followed by Charles LaMere, Woolverton, Boczar, and Ron Schlund Sr. to round out the top five.
Shawn Jones had a fast time of 16.135.
Richard Woolverton won the heat race.
Ron Schlund Sr. won the trophy dash.
Big Rig Main Event started with Ron Singer on the pole, and Brady Riplinger on the outside. Singer takes the lead on lap 1. Gino Howe takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 20, turn 4, Darren Berdahl spins, bringing out caution number 1. On lap 22, turn 2, Singer spins, bringing out caution number 2. Dylan Swanstrom takes the lead on lap 23. On lap 35, turn 1, Howe spins, bringing out caution number 3. Swanstrom goes on to win the Big Rigs 40-lap Main event, followed by Cory Riplinger, B. Riplinger, Howe, and Jaeger Berdahl to round out the top five.
Cole Wiesner had a fast time of 18.615.
Brady Riplinger wins heat race #1, and Cory Riplinger wins heat race #2.
Cory Riplinger won the trophy dash.
